Q & A

3 July, 2025
Stalkers! Towards the end of June, as we promised, we gathered all the questions you asked since the last Q&A session and answered them.

Feel free to ask more questions in our Discord

Question: Are you planning to upgrade the client from DirectX 9 to DirectX 11 or 12? That would reduce CPU load by shifting it to the GPU, allow modern shaders, and improve graphics.
Answer: Yes, we plan to migrate to a more modern DirectX, but will do so gradually to maintain stability and compatibility. We’ve broken this into four key stages:

·         Transition to an improved engine with deferred rendering — enabling visual enhancements without performance loss.

·         Rework of all 3D models for physically based rendering (PBR), improving material and lighting realism.

·         Full implementation of PBR and 2024 graphical improvements, including optimizations.

·         Final move to DirectX 11 with modern shaders and balanced CPU/GPU load.

Question: Will UI scaling be reworked for high resolutions? In 4K, UI elements are too tiny.
Answer: Work on that has begun. We already have an experimental UI scaling prototype with encouraging results. We’ll first test it in the Battle Pass interface on RU servers, and if stable, roll it out gradually to the rest of the UI.

Question: Will the fog that impacts visibility be reworked?
Answer: Yes, partially. We’ll leave “soft” fog as is, but plan to remove sprite-based fog entirely.

Question: Is there a plan to bring back first-person jumping?
Answer: Not currently prioritized. Our mechanics are third-person focused, so switching now would be inefficient. However, it might be offered as an optional feature in the future.

Question: When will the anti-cheat work properly? It now appears active, but doesn’t yield results.
Answer: Soon. It depends on companion services currently under active development.

Question: Will the starter zone be fixed? Many NPCs are non-functional and new players struggle with onboarding.
Answer: It’s a complex task that requires time. It’s on our priority list, but we haven’t allocated time yet. We continue to address map bugs and shortcomings.

Question: Can tunnel access at the Dam be made available without clan restriction? Or can the loot/activity be moved to a neutral area for solo players?
Answer: We’re researching this issue, collecting analytics and data. We’ll make a decision once we have enough information.

Question: Will new artifacts and resources be added (similar to K.VSS) for trade for unique weapons and armor?
Answer: Yes, we've been gradually updating all exchange mechanics and will continue to do so. Stay tuned!

Question: Are changes planned for the in-game economy, especially the silver currency? For example, price recalibration or additional silver for selling new artifacts?
Answer: Yes. This is a high-priority task, and changes will be implemented gradually.

Question: Will professions be reworked? Currently only 2–3 are viable, the rest are considered worthless.
Answer: It’s planned, but not an immediate priority.

Question: Will equipping two primary weapons at once be possible?
Answer: It is being considered, but not a priority at the moment.

Question: When will the promised clan progression system be added? It’s missing from the roadmap.
Answer: It’s planned, but not in the near-term priorities.

Question: Will the Battle Pass mechanics be modified? Progress is often abused by macros.
Answer: The Battle Pass isn't a competition, but abuse is tracked and punished. We’ll include some system updates in upcoming patches.

Question: When will bugs with radiation sound, "drip" sounds, and the infamous "chvak-chvak" be fixed? They’ve persisted for multiple updates.
Answer: We’re aware of these audio anomalies, but haven’t been able to reproduce them consistently, making them hard to fix. We suspect the “chvak” is a footstep sound on uneven surfaces. Once we find a reliable reproduction method, we’ll work on a fix.

Question: When will anomalies that disappear at certain camera angles or hide in bushes be fixed?
Answer: That fix is planned, but not currently prioritized.

Question: In the Kolya Tesla quest "New Repairs, Distant Frontier," there is no generator at the radio tower — will this be resolved?
Answer: Yes. It will be fixed in the next patch or hotfix; work is already underway.

Question: Are custom on-screen scopes allowed? Could using them result in a ban?
Answer: They might cause a ban depending on how they are implemented. Contact support and we’ll review each case manually.

Question: Can the "Positive" artifact quest be reinstated with a 6‑day cooldown and no stacking with Premium, so non-Premium players can progress on weekends?
Answer: No, we don’t plan to bring that back.

Question: Will PvE and non-base resource/artifact farming be made more significant?
Answer: Yes. We are committed to expanding PvE mechanics across various game aspects.
